Getting found

Customers are asking AI who to hire. Help them find you.

A clear website, trustworthy details, and an easy next step still matter. Here’s where to focus as search changes.

“Find a guitar teacher near me who works with adult beginners and offers evening lessons.” That is a much richer question than “guitar lessons.” It includes the customer’s location, confidence level, and schedule. It is also the kind of question AI search experiences are designed to help people explore.

For an independent business, the practical question is whether someone can find those details about you. You may be exactly the right teacher. If your website says only “lessons for all,” the fit is harder to see.

What has changed, and what still holds

Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode can respond to questions using information and links from the web. That changes how some people discover and compare businesses. It does not mean every search ends in an automatic booking or that ordinary search has disappeared.

Google’s guidance for website owners says its existing search best practices apply to these features. There is no special AI file or unique markup you need to add. Eligibility also does not guarantee that a page will appear.

Describe the work as clearly as you do in person

Think about the questions a serious customer asks before hiring you. Those questions are an excellent starting point for your service pages. A mobile detailer might explain where they travel, what each service includes, whether they need access to water, and how someone requests a quote.

Specific details help a person decide whether to contact you. They also give search systems clearer material to work with. Our recommendation is to write the page for the customer you want to serve, using concrete facts you can stand behind.

  • Say who and where you serve. Include your services, service area, and relevant specialties in readable text.
  • Explain how pricing works. If every job needs an estimate, say which details you need and what happens next.
  • Keep business details current. Check your hours and contact information on your website and Google Business Profile.
  • Show your work. Use relevant photos and honest descriptions of completed projects. Ask customers for honest reviews without prescribing their rating.
  • Make contact straightforward. Let visitors know whether they can book, message you, or request a consultation, and what to expect afterward.
Review your website through a customer’s eyes
  1. Can you help me?

Make the service, location, and customer fit clear.

  2. Can I trust you?

Show relevant work, accurate details, and genuine customer feedback.

  3. What happens next?

Offer a clear way to inquire or book, with realistic expectations.

Being easy to contact is worth improving now

Someone who discovers you through an AI answer may still want to ask about their particular situation. A parent needs to know whether a lesson suits their child. A homeowner wants to explain an awkward repair. Leave room for that conversation.

With Ramp AI · Your landing page, with built-in chat

Give an interested visitor a way to get an answer now.

Ramp AI includes a landing page with chat connected to Sarah’s reception support. A visitor can ask about a service and take the next step while their interest is fresh, giving your website a useful role beyond displaying your contact details.

A practical example

Someone finds your business on Google, opens your website, and asks whether you offer beginner lessons in the evening. Chat can use your service information and, with booking enabled, help them find an available time.

Explore the website and chat included

The benefit is helping the visitor who reaches you. Search visibility still depends on your website and the search provider; chat does not guarantee an AI recommendation.

Search will keep changing. A business that explains itself clearly and responds helpfully gives customers a better experience wherever they first discover it.
